March 3, 2026
The St. Christopher Air & Sea Ports Authority (SCASPA) joined regional aviation leaders, airline executives, tourism officials, and airport authorities at Routes Americas 2026, held from March 3–5, to advance strategic discussions on strengthening air connectivity across the Caribbean and the wider Americas.
Representing St. Kitts & Nevis at the three-day event were SCASPA Chief Executive Officer Adeola Moore, Chief Operations Officer Calvin Duggins, alongside CEO of the St. Kitts Tourism Authority Kelly Fontenelle, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism Tivanna Wharton and Candice Kimmel, Airlift Consultant, St. Kitts Tourism Authority. The delegation engaged in key meetings with airline partners and industry stakeholders aimed at exploring opportunities to expand airlift and strengthen St. Kitts & Nevis position within the regional aviation network.
Routes Americas is one of the aviation industry’s most important route development forums, bringing together airlines, airports, and tourism authorities to negotiate and plan future air services. The platform allows destinations to showcase their market potential while fostering partnerships that support tourism growth, trade, and economic development.
During the conference programme, regional leaders also participated in discussions focused on Aviation Connectivity in the Caribbean, examining the opportunities and challenges associated with improving regional and international air access. Panelists included Kelly Fontenelle, CEO of the St. Kitts Tourism Authority; Hon. Cardigan Connor, Minister of Health, Sports & Tourism for Anguilla; Hon. Deodat Indar, Minister of Public Utilities & Aviation for Guyana; and Evan Tillett, Director of Tourism for the Belize Tourism Board, moderated by Robert Kokonis, President & Managing Director of AirTrav-ICF.
The dialogue highlighted the importance of collaborative strategies between governments, tourism authorities, and aviation partners to strengthen regional connectivity, improve route sustainability, and support the continued growth of Caribbean tourism.
Participation in Routes Americas reflects SCASPA’s continued commitment to expanding St. Kitts & Nevis global aviation network, strengthening partnerships with international airlines, and positioning the Federation as a competitive and accessible destination within the Caribbean aviation landscape.
