Bird Rock, Basseterre, St. Kitts (Monday 28th August 2017) -The Events Committee of the St. Christopher Air and Sea Ports Authority (SCASPA) continues to build camaraderie amongst its staff with (2) successful events held in the past two consecutive months.

The Events Committee; a committee created by individuals from the Authority from various departments at SCASPA, has been working diligently to promote social bonding, staff unity and endless fun in the form of social gatherings.

The committee’s first event was held last month (July 2017) in the form of an outdoor barbecue summer bonanza dubbed, “SCASPA Social Friday Link-up.” The event was successful and was rated “one of the best gatherings for the year” according to a SCASPA Security Officer attendee.

The second event was the recently held karaoke special dubbed “SCASPA Karaoke Friday Social.

Staff enjoyed the delicacy of mouth-watering cook-up, goat water and fish soup scrumptiously prepared by Dale Byron and Winston Hobson of SCASPA.

While others shared in a game of Dominos and participated in the exciting karaoke venture.

Board members and staff members created “Kodak moments” by  singing tunes of calypso such as “Makazema” by King Elli Matt sung by board member Christopher Roberts to sensual romantic R&B tunes of “When I was your man” by Bruno Mars, renditioned by Karaoke specialist and SCASPA staff Ms. Hasina Tota.

An exciting Roots & Reggae Rock session kicked off the evening with a song compilation by Nigel Webbe, Esric Delaney and others who swayed the crowd with the tunes of late Reggae icons Peter Tosh, Bob Marley and Lucky Dube.

Events committee Chairperson, Mr. Kester Caines, expressed his satisfaction with the Karaoke Social to be a “well attended one.”

The Events committee work continues as plans are in order for SCASPA’s upcoming anniversary in the month of September.

A series of events is in place and is scheduled to begin this Sunday 3rd September 2017 with a church service.

The Events committee extends warm gratitude to staff for their participation and support as they continue to build SCASPA as a family through unified events like these.
