Basseterre, St. Kiits, Wednesday 9th November 2016 – The cruise season continues to progress commendably as the Federation saw its second inaugral call for the season with MS Mein Schiff 4 on Tuesday 08th November 2016.
In a plaque exchange ceremony held on the ship, Ms. Marva Burroughs , SCASPA’s Corporate Affairs Manager extended sincere thanks to Captain Jens Troier for considering St. Kitts a destination in the MS Mein Schiff’s itinerary. She expressed her wish that the Mein Schiff fleet would consider St. Kitts Port their home away from home.

In acceptance of the award, Captain Troier indicated that though this may have been MS Mein Schiff’s 4 inaugural and only stop to St. Kitts this season he promised the future will include more stops to the island including sister ship MS Mein Schiff 5…
“St. Kitts is a very beautiful island. Though this is our only stop here we plan to hopefully make more calls to this port for next season. We had a safe and comfortable docking and we would enjoy our short stay here. Nonetheless our sister ship Mein Schiff 5 is expected to visit here sometime next year and I’m sure they will too enjoy St. Kitts as we would.”

Also in attendance were Chief Executive Officer of the St. Kitts Tourism Authority, Ms. Racquel Browne, representatives from the St. Kitts and Nevis Police Department, Immigration representatives and Donald Cable of Delisle Walwyn & Co. Ltd. the ship’s agent.

MS Mein Schiff holds a capacity of 2790 passengers, crew non-inclusive. The TUI Mein Schiff 4 offers a total of 89 Suites, 957 Balcony staterooms (that are 80% of all rooms), 97 Ocean view rooms and 123 Interior cabins. The cruise line pioneered the “Dynamic Dining” concept with complimentary dining options all inclusive in cruise prices.

Mein Schiff 4 is also the first cruise ship to feature a maritime museum at sea – “Meerleben – Entdecken & Erleben”. It is operated together with the “International Maritime Museum” in Hamburg and the Ministry of Education and Research, Hamburg University, Bremen University, private companies and foundations.

The TUI and RC cruise line is expected to make another inaugural call to St. Kitts on April 12th with MS Mein Schiff 5.
