This press release seeks to further clarify the nature of the cargo then referenced and the mode of transportation.
The nature of cargo identified is as follows: cement, blocks, aggregates, asphalt, flammables, steel and other heavy construction materials; all of which in most instances are transported by way of heavy lorries, containers, trailers and flat beds.
Once again the Authority reiterates that its decision of requesting that all cargo handling, as referred to above, be done at the Deep Water Port, was always predicated on the interest of the safety of the travelling public through our facility, and is a decision that it will steadfastly uphold.
The Authority would like to thank all principals concerned for their support and cooperation as we seek to further enhance the travel experience of our valued passengers.
