SCASPA’s 5th Anniversary of the Best in Class High School Quiz Competition concluded on May 21, 2015 with Basseterre High School walking away as four-peat champions of the Competition.

The Basseterre High School represented by Kadeema Blanchette, Tarique Allen, Aliyah Bradshaw, and Dequan Bassue competed against the Immaculate Conception Catholic School represented by Jagruit Dulera, Oksana Isaac, John Cato, and Joel Fry.

The two schools made it to the grand finals after advancing after elimination rounds in which the Washington Archibald High, Verchilds High, Cayon High, Charles E. Mills Secondary Schools participated. The quiz consisted of the following category rounds: English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science Local History and Geography; Current Affairs, SCASPA Affairs, and Wild. The  curriculum based questions were prepared by a team of educators and PricewaterhouseCoopers randomly selected questions for each night of competition.

At the end of the evening, the schools walked away with attractive prizes and awards from SASPA and other sponsors.

Four-peat champion, Basseterre High School received XCD$1500.00 from SCASPA, XCD$500 from Lime; each student on the team received XCD$375.00 from SCASPA and one year free internet service from LIME. The Immaculate Conception Catholic School in 2nd place position, walked away with XCD$1000.00 and each student on the team received XCD$250.00 from SCASPA and in 3rd place position was the Washington Archibald High School who received a trophy from SCASPA.

The school with the highest score in the SCASPA round, Basseterre High School received XCD$350.00 from SCASPA while top student at the end of the Competition; Kadeema Blanchette, team leader of Basseterre High School, received XCD$1000.00, a plaque from SCASPA and an Alcatel tablet from Best in Class Sponsor – LIME.
